Who We Are
US Autism Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization for autism education, support, and solutions. Since 1995, US Autism Association began improving the quality of life of individuals affected by Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and other related disorders.
In the summer of 2005, Special Abilities evolved into US Autism & Asperger Association, Inc. and in July of 2018 to the US Autism Association, Inc. as the result of the DSM-5 and ICD-11 removing the Asperger diagnosis. Our mission has been consistent throughout the years to "Provide the Opportunity" for everyone living with Autism Spectrum Disorders and other related disorders to achieve their fullest potential, by enriching the ASD community with education, training, accessible resources, and partnerships with local and national projects.
The US Autism Association was founded by L. P. Kaplan, PhD.
