Conference Kicks Off With Groundbreaking Study: The Theory of Sensory-Cognitive Difference
A much different understanding, for the first time ever, of those who are diagnosed with autism or Asperger Syndrome

Dr. Marlo Payne Thurman kicks off the 2016 USAAA 11th Annual World Conference in Louisville, Kentucky, August 18-20, 2016 at the Hyatt Regency Louisville with the results of a GROUNDBREAKING STUDY: The Theory of Sensory-Cognitive Difference.

Dr. Thurman's new study on Intelligence, Cognition, and Sensory Processing of people with autism and Asperger Syndrome will be presented, exclusively, during this opening session. We will learn about the implications and have a much different understanding, for the first time ever, of those who are diagnosed with autism or Asperger Syndrome.

Temple Grandin - Keynote Address

Exclusive "One-on-One" with Temple

Temple Grandin, PhD, now the most accomplished and well-known adult with autism in the world, will be the Keynote Speaker on August 19 at the 2016 USAAA 11th Annual World Conference in Louisville, Kentucky, August 18-20, 2016 at the Hyatt Regency Louisville.

Dr. Grandin’s fascinating life was brought to the screen in 2010 in the HBO production full-length film, "Temple Grandin", which claimed seven Emmy Awards, including outstanding made for TV movie.

Dr. Grandin currently is a professor of animal sciences at Colorado State University where she continues her research while teaching courses on livestock handling and facility design. Her book, Animals in Translation was a New York Times best seller.

Aging Out of School: Now What? Breaking News on the opening of a multifaceted center.

The opening of a new and innovative multifaceted center-based program, for adults who have aged out of the school system, will be announced at the US Autism & Asperger Association 11th Annual World Conference August 18-20, 2016 in Louisville, Kentucky. The program will be launched in September. Detailed information of the original design will be presented by Dr. Gil Tippy and Dr. Lawrence P. Kaplan on August 19 at the 2016 USAAA 11th Annual World Conference in Louisville, Kentucky, August 18-20, 2016 at the Hyatt Regency Louisville.

The Self-Advocates, Challenges Throughout the Lifespan will feature five self-advocates on Saturday, August 20 at the 2016 USAAA 11th Annual World Conference in Louisville, KY, August 18-20, 2016 at the Hyatt Regency Louisville.

Each panelist describes his or her personal experiences with autism or Asperger Syndrome in the areas of Visual Thinking, Sensory Problems, Difficulties with Communication, Socialization, Work Environment, and many other challenges they face each day.
