Autism Community To Unite In Kansas City For World Conference
Leading experts to share latest therapies and interventions
KANSAS CITY, Missouri - August 29, 2014 - The US Autism & Asperger Association is set to hold its 9th annual world conference and expo next week from September 4-7, 2014 in Kansas City, Missouri. The conference will be held at the Marriott Country Club Plaza Hotel. The keynote presentation, a world premiere, will feature five individuals with Autism or Aspergers presenting “The Time is Now: 10-Minute Keynotes About What We Learned From Living With Autism”, and will start at 8:30 AM, Friday, September 5. www.usautism.org/conferences
A second keynote address, “Ten Tips to Reduce Brain Overload”, will be given by Martha Herbert, MD, PhD, Assistant Professor of Neurology at Harvard Medical School, at 8:30 AM, Saturday, September 6. The conference will include more than thirty of the world’s leading Autism and Asperger experts who will discuss evidence-based therapies as well as experiences, perspectives, and challenges.

Two featured speakers include Stephen M. Shore, EdD, self-advocate and Professor of Special Education at Adelphi University, and J. Michael Uszler, MD, Medical Director of the Nuclear Medicine Department at Saint John's Health Center in Santa Monica, California and Assistant Clinical Professor of Molecular and Medical Pharmacology at UCLA. Dr. Uszler will reveal surprising results of brain scans on over 1200 individuals with autism. He is the leading expert of autism brain SPECT scans in the world.
